Dating apps have been fooling us for years. They’re not made to make us fall in love. They’re made to make us fall in love with them. So, it’s time for a new match maker: your grocery store. Challenge Dating apps match us based on our hobbies and interests, which work well as conversation starters, but are no base for long term connections. That's exactly why the system works - for them instead of you.  Insight After many (many!!!!) first dates, I realized: a good match should be as simple as doing your groceries. It’s not just about what you like, it’s about how you live, your values and lifestyle. And if there’s one place that truly knows that, it’s your grocery store. It knows when you get home, if you’re vegetarian, if you have a cat, if you’re going through a breakup or a mental breakdown. Trust me, that chocolate and cheese combo says enough. Concept Introducing Dates in de bonus: a dating app based on your grocery list. You hand over yours and get another one back. The one with the name of your match, and even more important, the reason why. A transparant algorithm that makes you aware and even a little flirty. Execution This app needed a physical space too, just like your grocery store. The pop-up is designed like a receipt, black and white, a bit smudged and a bit smelly. The rest of the visual style takes a turn on Tinders latest campaign, combining it with grocery store sale booklets.
